    Loading…however, before I listen:

    What I’ve been playing:
    Forza Horizon
    Halo 4
Watching my daughter play Sky Landers

Got a chance to play The Walking Dead, Terrible! I cant believe the won any GOTY awards. I’ve never said anything about this game because I didnt get the chance to play it, but now…C’Mon Man! They took an old Resident Evil 1 game made it cell shaded, short, and its the GOTY. No, hell no! Also, I had a chance to see Journey…I agree with Chase167. People call this game of the year, no. A 2 hour game, maybe shorter, when other games have been criticized for being short at 6 or 7 hours, now this is GOTY, C’Mon Man.

Also, I’m nominating Forza Horizon as my runner-up GOTY to Halo 4 the GOTY Champ. I didnt have it in the running at first, but, what the hell, The Walking Dead a remake of an old-ass game with some Dragons Lair thrown in & Journey a 2 hour game can be nominated & win…Forza Horizon is well made and action packed. I also Beat Forza Horizon…Draven71, I beat some of your scores.

Just for your edification, I am loving both Halo 4 and Forza Horizon. I’m not finished with either one of them yet. But I do have to say that 343 definitely has something to be proud of, from what I’ve seen and played it’s definitely top notch. As for Forza Horizon is concerned, I’m almost done with the game and it is easily a better game fundamentally than Need for Speed Most Wanted. There is so much to do in Horizon and the best part is its fun, whereas NFS:MW is fun but it just lacks content. They have designed a huge world but the content that you can interact with is few and far between. In terms of multiplayer, I have way more fun with NFS:MW, the challenges are varied and different every time you play, I just can’t say that about Horizon at this point. Oh yeah, I’m taking down your scores as I come across them, when I’ve completed the game I’ll go back and work on the rest, lol.

Game length is in no way indicative of quality, yes Journey is a roughly a three hour experience and if you rush through that game then your not seeing the point of that game. I’m sure its not for everyone but no game ever is, however there is no denying the quality of work put into that game, there is very little wrong with it. It is truly unique in a world of games dominated by shooters, driving and sports games. The Walking Dead is a crazy beast into itself, I think the cell shaded graphics are fine but no big deal, the controls are kinda clunky and the polish on each episode seemed to get worse as each episode was released. With that being said, the aspect that makes this game so great is in the delivery of a compelling story where you have to make hard choices that will effect you and the fate of each and every person during the narrative. TellTale Games crafted a narrative so compelling that it got the players to care for one or more characters and once you’ve done that you’ve got them hooked, and they will follow you anywhere. We don’t see that much in gaming as of lately, The Walking Dead offers a different experience instead of the cookie cutter games that we got from Assassin’s Creed 3, Halo 4, Far Cry 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and so many more this year. In that regard alone, its deserving of the game of the year awards it has been receiving. Happy New Year!

Just returned home from Vacation with the family so no games played and i’am only a quarter way through episode 17.Must say many thanks to Draven and Morgan for your impressions on Far Cry 3, You guys had me salivating for the game so i will definitely be picking it up as soon as i can.

    • Draven71 Post author

Hey B-Ramz, hopefully you had a great family vacation as well as a wonderful holiday season. I’m looking forward to hearing about your impressions of FC3 once you get your hands on it, but beware, there are tons of things to do in that game. Have fun!

What a podcast! This show was just great, tons to talk about.

Yes, this Crytek guy is a job for me to handle! When you guys see this Crytek guy at E3, GDC, or Whatever gaming venue you guys attend & he’s there, say: Hay if your game is going to hang with Gears 3 & Halo 4, it must have 4 player campaign co-op! Does it have that Mr. Crytek guy?

    • Draven71 Post author

No kidding eh? That Crytek guy is amazingly delusional. The best part about that article I was talking about is that he specifically states that the console versions look great. Its not like he is talking about the PC version, which should look amazing on a high end rig. From the footage they showed at E3 last year the game looked above average but not stellar. I can’t wait to see what other garbage this guy spews from his mouth as the release date looms closer.

What I’ve been playing: Bioshock 2, Boderlands 2, Sleeping Dogs, Batman Arkham City, and NBA 2K13.
Just got PS Plus…damn its good!
    Happy new year everybody!

      • Michael Fedor

I will tell you draven I am loving sleeping dogs right now. I just finished it two nights ago and might play a few more minutes of it. But I think you would like it. It works really well as a open world game but some stuff just need a bit more time. Like some of the fighting just needed a tiny bit more polish. If you get a chance to play it I highly recommend it. I love the environment and the way the world reacts to weather. I will talk more about it on the show.

    @Morgan Park

I LMAO @ that Sam Fisher vs. Solid Snake segment about the 107min mark! That was funny as hell: Morgan & Exodus were correct, Sam would kill Snake. However, the debate was hilarious.

After Morgan & Exodus went on why Snake would die, Chase & Mike were sayin no, no, no. Then they ask Draven to settle the tie, Draven said: “I dont give a shit”! That was the funniest s*** I’ve heard all month! LMAO!

And youre crazy, both of those games (Splinter Cell & MGS) are some of our best games ever. However, I do understand some dont like the stealth games. To each his own.

    Cant Wait for Splinter Cell:Blacklist.

How about you guys throw that out: Whats your top 3 or 5 Most Anticipated Games of 2013 & Why? For the next show.

    My Most Anticipated:
    Gears Judgment
    Splinter Cell: Blacklist
    Bungie Game

    • Draven71 Post author

Let me clarify something here, I really like the Splinter Cell series and I really enjoyed the stealthy aspect of Splinter Cell: Conviction. The Metal Gear Solid series I’ve had more trouble getting into. I’ve never finished any of them, I try and play them and I always end out losing interest in them, I don’t know know why. I have to admit though, MGS4 is absolutely amazing to look at, I’m about 2/3rds done with that game and it is definitely one of the best looking games this gen for sure. All in all I am really curious to see what Splinter Cell: Blacklist is gonna be like when it is released.

My “Hype” meter is low for GoWJ. Overrun looks good, but too many changes (Control scheme, 1 primary & pistol, active reload boost, no Locusts in MP, no DBNO, & no stopping power). Well, I fine with no stopping power, but no active reload hurts. My “wall bouncing” & shotguns skills are not that great…

    • Draven71 Post author

What I’m looking forward to most with Gears Judgment is its increase in difficulty. Epic has blatantly come out and said that this will be the most challenging Gears game yet, so I’m sure we can expect a lot of chatter about this when the game finally drops in March.

  • B-Ramz

Happy new year to everybody on the site!
Hearing you guys reminisce about some of your old podcasts brought back fond memories for me too!! The longest podcast i remember lasted over 8 hours.
Hope to pick up Far Cry3 next payday.
